Information for Turtle Lakes as well as Pasco county.

News & Important Information

Recycling:

It’s EASY. Use a bin, a can or a cart. Purchase your own or use an existing container. You may use more than one container. You may also continue to use blue or clear bags.

ü   You must use a reflective recycling sticker on your (permanent) container. If you have a street mailbox, you should have received one sticker in the mail. If not, call your trash hauler for a sticker; you may call your trash hauler for additional stickers as well.

The county recycling office number is (727) 856-4539. Call them if you haven't gotten a sticker and they'll mail you one.

If you choose to continue using blue or clear bags,
you do not need to use a sticker.
Haulers already recognize blue or clear bags as recycling.

ü   Place your recycling at the curb the night before your recycling pickup day.

You do not need to separate them.

We recycle the following items (please rinse the items and discard the caps and lids):

-Aluminum cans
-Metal food cans
-#1, #2, #3, #4, #5 and #7 plastic bottles and jars {NO #6}
-Clear, green, brown bottles and jars

PICK UP DAYS ARE THE 1st & 3rd WED OF EVERY MONTH.

Pets:

Keeping our community clean is very important to all of us. Please remember when walking your dog, you are required to clean up after them.

Streets and Gutters:

Please remember when you are taking care of your front lawn to take a minute to clean out the gutters along the street in front of your house.  It is our responsibility to keep those free and clear so they don’t clog the drains to our lakes. Loose leaves can clog sewers and cause street flooding. If you have a sewer catch basin near your property, please clear away leaves or other debris on a regular basis.  Remember that all the debris that goes into the sewers come out into our lakes. Make sure that

harmful substances, such as paints, oils and other car fluids are NOT running down them so that our
lakes and wild life stay safe!

Street Lights:

Please keep an eye out on the electric pole closest to you.  Some of them have vines growing up them and we need to know which poles are in need of attention. Also, if a street light is out, contact us and let us know about it.

If you see a street light burnt out please contact Duke Energy at the following link to get that fixed and turned back on.  Thank you.

Parking:

Please remember that there is NO PARKING on any street in Pasco County.  Additionally, you are not to park your cars on your front lawn.  If you do not have room to park on your driveway you may park a vehicle in a place where it is not unsightly to your neighbors. The County Codes and Ordinances state you can only park in your driveway it is also on your deeds for the community.  You may park parallel to your driveway if you need the extra parking.  Should you have any questions, feel free to contact us.

Report issues to county:

You can report all sorts of issues to the county.  They list a bunch of different problems and issues, from signs missing, street lights out, animal issues, drainage, illegal dumping of trash etc...

Deed Restricted Community:

For those of you who have wondered if Turtle Lakes is a deed restricted community or not, I'm here telling you YES, we all have deed restrictions. The TLCA has copies of all 4 units, posted below.

Our community, however, doesn't really follow most of the deed restrictions and we have had people complain about other homeowners breaking the rules. Please, if you are going to complain about other homeowners, take a look at your own property first. You might very well be breaking some rules as well and not even know it. We do not want to turn into a community that sends out letters to people breaking rules and slaps fines on them for things that they have done wrong. That would be a huge undertaking for one since, like I said, a lot of people are breaking one restriction or another. But, if you are wondering and would like to see your deed for your unit or all the deeds, contact us.
